The journey times between Dewsbury and Leeds have increased to the point it makes it untenable to visit Leeds for shopping. It is impossible to get to Huddersfield in a reasonable time and Dewsbury has declined terribly through lack of investment. We are being hemmed in by the traffic
The highways agency have already objected and it is a major concern for both local residents and neighbouring councils. We as a group, and our many neighbours who are affected by this, strongly oppose this development based on these grounds.
The recent updated reports, a 2700 page document when combined, state clearly that the impact the development will have on the traffic cannot be mitigated by the developers and would need to dealt with by a much higher authority.
